weekend travels sunday

Transcend2010 conceptual public art project in front of a church in University City most of the ladders are borrowed and strapped together with cable ties
its intention is to show how we depend on one another to overcome adversity.
its dedication date of September 11, was chosen as a metaphor about reaching higher, climbing higher over particular obstacles and one of these obstacles is fear.
ladders have been coming from all over the community, the goal is 300 ladders or ladder like structures.
artist is Charlie Brouwer, who has been using the ladder for the past 30 in his art pieces

I guess art is all in the eye of the beholder [or the artist...] This looks like the aftermath of a hurricane to me! Maybe I'm just not cultured enough!

word tosser, this was a very interesting piece of public art; just coming up with the idea is amazing to me, who would have thought it!! a bunch of ladders fastened together, but it did get my interest to take photos, i really really love my camera
