Old St Charles Cakes

The hunt continues. This cake is at the Old St Charles Courthouse. Found it on a beautiful Saturday morning and every Saturday since then has been gloomy.
Cake in front of the Lewis and Clark boathouse
In the back yard of the First Missouri State Capitol building
Blessed Phillipine Duchesne shrine. I keep running across the cakes by accident since I keep forgetting to take my list with me.

Cakes again

This cake is in my own backyard. Found it at Fort Zumwalt Park in O'Fallon, Mo. This is the park that has a Christmas light display every year.
This is the cabin at is painted on the cake. It has been in the process of being rebuilt for several years.

Bit o' the Irish part 3

After a lunch at Maggie O'Briens consisiter of Irish stew and Irish coffee we drove to the Irish part of St. Louis known as "Dogtown" a wonderful little neighborhood. After visiting the church our last stop of the day was at Pat's Pub to watch Irish dancing.
Yet another church; St. James the Greater. DogTown has been called a "province of the Republic of Ireland and host the annual St Patrick's day parade of the Ancient Order of Hiberians. The church was founded in 1861
another sighting of a birthday cake in Dogtown

The last cake of the day in Turtle Park across the highway from the St. Louis Zoo.

A bit o' the Irish part 2

The Pro Cathedral of St John the Apostle and Evangelist was another church we stopped to tour.
 A High Cross stands outside
the beautiful altar. This church served the families moving to the first suburb of the original village/city of St. Louis, founded in 1847. The Archbishop's chair is on the right which designates this church as the Archbishop's Catherdral
we also stopped to shop for Irish goods.
