destruction

top of photo is the before
bottom is the same view after the tornado.
I've not seen the area in person yet, not sure I
want to! I did drive by the area on Friday.
There are not words to describe it!

my addiction

I LOVE MY "NOOK"
it goes every where I go
just like my camera. I have read several novels since i received it, which explains
my lack of postings in the past month. Its
so nice to have a lightweight book that you
can easily carry and the best thing is i don't have to buy books i can take
advantage of the ebooks at the library. I really didn't
think I wanted a nook, but since the kids gave it
to me for my birthday i changed my mind.
this is one of the best gifts i have ever got.

tornados

my daughter didn't go to the basement when the warning sirens
went off, she went out to take picture
we in St Louis and the suburbs had a wild Good Friday night!
Tornado came thru town to visit. My family is all ok but the city my kids grew up in was severely damages; we had a ef4 tornado, (the scale is from 1-5, being the worse)
homes blew down to foundation,
looks like a bomb went off. Our airport, Lambert International,
suffered great damage, but no one in this horrible storm was killed, some injuries. God was watching over us!
I was in the basement for awhile with my storm kit:
portable radio, cell phone, flashlight, camera,
and this time my e reader, just in case i had to spend sometime in the basement.
my backyard is a lake, patio chair floating down the yard
to my neighbors and the rain keeps falling.
Thinking of building an ark! Oh my gosh big bolt of lightening and thunder!!!!

2011 Tartan Days on the Riverfront

Dance Caledonia performed. These kids were great! The temps last Sunday were 93 degree and they did a great job entaining all of us Mary, Queen of Scots shopping at a booth my favorite, the Heeland Coo (said with a Scottish accent)

in the past 30 days

got a nook for my birthday from my wonderful childrens; and after 2 weeks of late night frustration, many many downloads, many, many deletions, a couple of install and uninstall adobe, 1 hour class at the library and a short visit to barnes and noble I can finally read books from the library. So many books, so little time!!!
fast trip to Ikea in Chicago for cubes, trying to get organized
seen my nephew get married
celebrated laney's birthday
can't wait to get into that cake
don't you dare thinking about sitting in my tinker bell chair
another fashion statement
watched the development of the new library
made the little ones shirts for St Patrick's day, thanks to
some subway art I got from the web
