my new little buddy
i've had this feeder out since may, was always emptied, but i never saw anything eating the nectar. sunday i was sitting on my porch swing, heard a humming noise that i thought was a HUGE bee ( i'm scared silly of bees) and lo and behold, my little buddy! he must have seen me move because all of a sudden he was about a foot away from me, checking me out. my mission is now to get many more photos of him. this is the first time i've seen a hummingbird in person

baseball fever
down town st louis is the site of the all star baseball game this year. there is may things for baseball fans to do. last night there was a concert by Sheryl Crow and Elvis Costello that was free, held under the arch. This is the entrance to O'fallon's stadium.
O'fallon's minor league team is the river city rascals. Nice stadium, very family friendly and you are close of the action. big playground for the kids, and reasonable prices.
farmers market opening
first opening bell of the O'fallon farmers market, saturday was the first day. I got there at 7:00 a.m. and they had a good crowd already
ribbon cutting mayor and organizer of the market
my daughter in laws friend Lynette at her bakery booth. Lynette is a wonderful cook. She catered my son and daughter in laws wedding reception
