Happy St Patrick's Day

May you alway walk in sunshine.
May you never want for more. May Irish angels rest their wings right beside your door

puppet show at the foundry centre

puppets from around the world, this story was from India the Nightengale from China
slowly creeping up the steps to get on stage during the African story; the snake child and the frog child
L couldn't wait to meet the puppeteer, she even got in someone else photo
crafts, crafts, crafts
we always leave a donation when we attend a activity.
Today was a fun day, but it didn't start out that way! I replaced a wall light switch in the kitchen today and felt so proud of my self and then later in the morning the light by the couch, blew up, sparks shooting out, a small fire and alot of burning electrical wiring smell. The light had been flickering for awhile, so I'm going to assume that it wasn't something I did, (crossing her fingers as she types)

Time for herd ball

Its spring "soccer" season (aka herd ball) D had his first game on Saturday. Wind was 30 or so miles an hour with temps in the 40's. Blankets weren't enough for the spectators, its hard to cheer when you are wrapped up. Like wise it's hard to play soccer when wrapped up in a blanket

Library

I have been spending way too much time at the library using their computers to do research of my family tree; by using the libraries' computers I can do some research without paying for it, and I'm all about FREE! Today I think I found that my 4th paternal great grandfather served in the Civil War. I found a pension card. If it is him, he was a private in the Union army.
I'm obsessed with the family tree now. It's what I am spending all of my free time doing, letting other things slide, so I've told myself that Wednesday right now will be my research day and Thursday nights are my genealogy class nights. Why didn't someone tell me this is addictive?????
The photo above is my mom, her mom and dad and a aunt in 1925.
The very best thing so far is I am definitely Irish on my maternal side. Yaaaaaaa. Still searching for the Irish link on my paternal side.

looking for pelicans

rumor had it that the pelicans were back along the river. Who would have thought there are pelicans in the midwest? R and I went to check the rumor out. tow and barge going down the river, I'm not sure if its the Mississippi or the Missouri. Alton is close to the confluence of both these rivers. the dam makes this a good place for eagles and pelicans to have easy hunting. We didn't see any pelicans or eagles. Our winter has been too too warm for them to be plentiful. Good thing is I've found a new place to photograph, there is a migratory bird preserve that I didn't know about
